What kind of feeling is love? How do you show love? How much love can your heart hold? Where does love stop and hatred begin? Is love eternal? Does love stop, when somebody dies? Was does love mean? For one school year the scholars from the Sonnenuhr primary school and the Johann-Gottfried-Herder secondary school in Lichtenberg in the context of ChanceTanz have danced and explored together what humanity and love could mean. They rehearsed once a week, met for intensive weekend-rehearsals and visited other dance performances together presented in the Berlin dancescene. The performance “dance kitchen“ emerged during this time.
Planned, developed and accompanied by the artist-team Johanne Castillo Bro and Claudia Garbe (concept/choreography), Ingolf Watzlaw (stage/costume) and Hebert Asprilla (music). The project was enabled by Tanzfabrik Berlin e. V., Uferstudios GmbH and the two involved schools. It was sponsored by ChanceTanz, a project raised from Bundesverband Tanz in Schulen e. V. in the context of a program called “Kultur macht stark“, alliances for education BMBF.
