WHAT

For the months April to December 2026 PSR Collective will offer a series of studio space rotations for artists and groups in Studio 16. This includes free use of the space without an artist fee and no technical support. Applications are particularly welcome for full calendar months, namely April, May, July, August, September, October, November, and December. Smaller time periods or periods overlapping the months are not possible. Informal showings may be offered by the artist but are not required. We are particularly interested to hear from artists with socially engaged practices or projects, those working with groups and projects in the neighbourhood, and people who are interested in the artistic profile of PSR. It is possible to combine this residency with funding from another source (please indicate any confirmed funding you have for the project); however, preferences may go towards those who are less well supported by existing structures. The intention of this residency is to provide free space for artistic research, so no showings or results are required. Artists are encouraged not to plan overly ambitious or self-exploitative projects in this frame. Students who do not already have free access to dance studio space can apply. To note the studio is used on weekends for our regular offers and not available during this time.

See the studio here.

ABOUT PSR

PSR is a collective of Berlin-based artists and cultural workers, including Olympia Bukkakis, Olivia Hyunsin Kim, Mmakgosi Kgabi, Sheena McGrandles, Simone Willeit and Dina Nurpeissova. PSR started in 2018 on the initiative of Uferstudios to develop a concept for the use of the Heizhaus as a place for social choreography. The needs of the artistic community were to be taken into account in equal measure, but also in particular the immediate surroundings of the location. Despite their medially and different ways of working, the members of PSR are united by an interest in choreographic procedures that activate social openness and commitment, and by an understanding of working with 'othered' communities. Since 2019 the projects at the Heizhaus focus on the question of what happens when new connections are formed through unlikely encounters? When we speak of unlikely encounters we hope for a radical permeability of different artistic, political and social contexts.
