Networks

As a Berlin location for the dance scene, Uferstudios strives to support networks of and for artists through various collaborations and partnerships. On a city-wide as well as on a national and international level, the Uferstudios are committed to the cultural-political concerns of artists and the structures of the contemporary dance landscape of Berlin. Uferstudios is currently involved in the following partnerships:

TanzRaumBerlin

Since its founding in 2004, the network "TanzRaumBerlin" has been an association of Berlin theaters, organizers and institutions that have set themselves the goal of strengthening the art form of dance. As a unique dance initiative, the network meets monthly and is an important forum for exchange, discussion and cooperation. Together with ZTB e.V. and Tanzbüro Berlin, the network "TanzRaumBerlin" has launched important initiatives to structurally strengthen contemporary dance in Berlin. Thus, among other things, the creation of the Uferstudios themselves as well as the founding of the HZT Berlin can be traced back to the initiative of trb and ZTB e.V.. The establishment of the Round Table Dance 2018 and the further development of the resulting measures and projects, such as dance practice, residency program for Berlin dance professionals, distribution support and planning of a house for dance and choreography, among others, took place in the triad TanzRaumBerlin Netzerk, Zeitgenössischer Tanz Berlin e.V. and Tanzbüro Berlin. Uferstudios GmbH, founded as "TanzRaumBerlin GmbH", has been an active partner of the network since the beginning.

Contemporary Dance Berlin e.V.

The registered association "Contemporary Dance Berlin" represents the interests of actors, artists, choreographers, dancers, dance companies and institutions working in the context of dance, choreography and performance in Berlin.

The association wants to create productive conditions for the art form of dance and advocate transparent and equal communication between artists, politics and the public. With the demand for "2000 square meters for contemporary dance" in 2000 and the cultural-political setting of the course for this, the association was a major initiator of the Uferstudios. Uferstudios GmbH is a member of the association and participates alternately in different working groups, at the moment e.g. in the AG working culture.

Coalition of the Independent Scene

The Coalition of the Free Scene of All Arts was formed in Berlin in 2012 to draw attention to the blatant lack of funding in Berlin's cultural budget. Uferstudios GmbH has been an active supporter of the coalition from the beginning. The Coalition of the Independent Scene opposes a policy that increasingly exposes artists in independent structures to exploitation constraints or to displacement, thereby damaging the autonomy of art and marginalizing the social significance of art.

The Coalition of the Independent Scene is an open platform that discusses and formulates cultural policy demands, develops concepts and organizes campaigns in regular meetings. In cooperation with various networks, initiatives, groups and individuals, the Coalition of the Independent Scene bundles and develops ideas for a new cultural policy. Art producers and those interested in cultural policy are invited to participate.

Berlin Bühnen

Uferstudios is a member of Berlin Bühnen, an association of over 90 Berlin stages, venues, theaters, opera houses and concert halls. The portal provides an interface to journalists, city newspapers, calendar editors, visitor organizations, travel agencies and other cultural portals in the city.
